I had always assumed that Heaven was my final destination after life on Earth.  My Mom, sisters and I regularly attended church services as I was growing up.  But I had no idea that something was required of me in order to enjoy eternity in Heaven.  But, after high school and marriage, church attendance was very low on my list of priorities.  After my first daughter was born, I had a definite compulsion to return to church. Because I attended a Baptist Church growing up, I found the closest Baptist Church in my community. After attending church and Bible studies for several years, I was stopped short by one particular verse:

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.  But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.” Matt 10:32-33 (NLT)

Had I ever acknowledged Christ before in my life?  The answer was NO, I had not. I had seen numerous people baptized during church services and had heard their testimonies. I also said that I could never do that.

But Matthew 10:32-33 captured my attention like nothing else.

During the Easter season that year the Pastor made an altar call:  “Would anyone come forward to acknowledge Christ as their Savior?”

Yes!

I made the decision to acknowledge that I was a sinner, in need of a Savior and accepted Christ as the substitute to take the punishment for all my sins, past and future.

For years I wondered how I had ever missed the most basic tenet of Christianity:  I am a sinner who needs a Savior if I want to spent eternity in Heaven.

Because I needed God’s Word unfiltered, I developed Meet God and His Son to make it just as easy for you to learn about Christ and find just one verse that will benefit you for all eternity.
