Boy, 2016 is shaping up to be a really busy year with primaries, elections, candidates, town halls, blog posts, news coming out of your ears, emails and everyone who is trying to get your attention and then your vote.  So who can you trust, who can you rely on before you vote?   Here’s Benjamin Franklin’s thoughts on prayer for America (from June 28, 1787, Philadelphia, PA).

“God governs in the affairs of men.”

Ben Franklin
“God governs in the affairs of men”

“I have lived, Sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?”

Here in America we have learned that men’s solutions, that sound so great, do not actually solve problems.  The government always resists private sector solutions over a big-government tax-payer funded bureaucracy.  What are we supposed to do when this happens all the time?

All because of unconstitutional government regulations.  The unintended consequences are more of a burden than the government solution ever intended to solve.

In 2016 Americans have the opportunity to select new leadership. You know it’s always best to take action based on wise counsel. Which may include looking at God’s Word to weigh a candidate’s claims against God’s Word.  Will newly elected officials make needed changes to choose solutions that reflect God’s ideal and God’s best for His highest creation?
