We Need God’s Full Armor

Heavenly Father,  yesterday a mass killing occurred in America.  Dozens of people were killed by a mentally ill young man.  Evil exists in this world because of free will.  We are all given the choice of good and evil, right and wrong, yes or no, or action or non-action.

We stand stronger when we believe your FINAL WORD: BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN HIS MIGHTY POWER. PUT ON ALL OF GOD’S ARMOR SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST ALL STRATEGIES OF THE DEVIL.  FOR WE ARE NOT FIGHTING AGAINST FLESH-AND-BLOOD ENEMIES, BUT AGAINST EVIL RULERS AND AUTHORITIES OF THE UNSEEN WORLD, AGAINST MIGHTY POWERS IN THIS DARK WORLD, AND AGAINST EVIL SPIRITS IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES.   EPH 6:10-12 (NLT)

Elected legislators not only permit the evil of abortion but promote it through forced taxpayer dollars in spite of the earnest efforts of pro-life organizations.  Homosexual desire is represented as equivalent to the marriage of one man and one woman.

Decades ago prayer was eliminated from our public schools and anything Scripture is distrusted in the public square by those who have never learned about You.  With the re-election of socialists in Washington DC by voters who may or may not have cast legitimate ballots, Super Storm Sandy on the east coast and now the mass killing in Connecticut, we are currently experiencing the prevalence of evil and the withdrawal of your protection for America.

The free choice of millions of people has been expressed.  But as Thomas Jefferson expressed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.   The song was written God Bless America, Land that I Love.  Millions of Americans still love America, but can we still assume that God will continue to bless America?

In Jesus’ Name ~ Amen

About SHIRLEY KUFELDT

Everyone says that a Christian should journal their prayer requests. Several years ago I finally found a system that works for me and have been journaling my prayer requests ever since. I became a Christian in my 30's but wonder how I ever missed the invitation to accept Christ prior to that time. Bible Bites makes it easy to be exposed to, and respond to, one Scripture each day. It's like a having a conversation with God!
