Goals That Lead to Success

iStock_000016410363Small[1]--GOALSOne morning in 2008 I walked out in front of my father-in-law’s house and took two photos of the sunrise. A couple days later I downloaded the snapshots to my computer and was very pleasantly surprised to see the image of a cross in those two pictures I took that morning.

At the end of 2008 the stock market was crashing, America was descending into a terrible recession and my retirement portfolio was rapidly declining.  About that same time I journaled in a small devotional  For the first time in my life I enjoyed journaling.

Because my portfolio had dwindled so much, I asked God what I could do to supplement my retirement income.  He directed me to just compile verses of Scripture into small topical booklets

My first booklets were just four sheets of printer paper, folded in half twice, then stappled to create a very small booklet.  I journaled in these small booklets for two years.

I needed a name for my small devotionals.  The first name that I chose was God’s Word My Walk. But because this was God’s idea, I thought it would be a good idea to pray about it.   So in one of my homemade little booklets I asked God what I should call them.

The answer to that prayer was Bible Bites.

I journaled all of the verses in Goals That Lead to Success because I wanted to read God’s Word, learn what God had to say to me about success and actually pray that I would be in God’s will in my search for success.

Here’s a quick verse from Goals That Lead to Success:

Job 32:8 states ‘But there is a spirit within people, the breath of the Almighty within them, that makes them intelligent.’

Jeremiah 29:11-14 is one of my all time favorites.  “For I know the plans I have for you.” says the Lord.  “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  I will be found by you,” says the Lord.

And that’s my prayer for you–that you will seek God with your whole heart.  And find Him and learn to rely on Him knowing that, when your goals align with His will for your life, you will experience His success in your life.

Learn to pray God’s Word in faith on your dream, your future or your current trial, in Jesus’ Name.  God will use any circumstance of your life to encourage you to seek His best answer to your problem, which may not be your desired outcome.  On the journey you may be challenged in uncomfortable ways but your prayer will be answered in a way that matures your faith and brings glory to God.   God does indeed answer every prayer HIS way:

  • Definitely
  • Denied
  • Delayed
  • Differently
  • Distributed a bit at a time

The solution to your trial will be enhanced by your faithful obedience to God when you trust Him for all things and learn to praise Him always.
