The Borrower is the Servant to the Lender

Heavenly Father, Our President and Congress have left Washington DC for a quick Christmas break.  In August 2011 America’s elected representatives were unable to define a budget on which both the House and Senate could agree.  They postponed action till December 31, 2012.  And they still cannot agree either to spending cuts or higher taxes for all Americans.  Bicker, bicker, bicker is all they do without solving a single problem.  They continue to delay implementation of real solutions.  However, we know that JUST AS THE RICH RULE THE POOR, SO THE BORROWER IS SERVANT TO THE LENDER.  Proverbs 22:7 (NLT)

Millions of Americans truly love their country.  And now Americare requires the Wisdom of Solomon who commanded that a baby be split in two when two women both claimed to be the child’s mother.  Only the real mother was willing to give up her rights to the child.  Real love is willing to make the sacrifice.

And now I fear for America because of the mountain of debt that is accumulated every single day by our legislators who commit to spending and give the obligation to repay that debt to ordinary hard working citizens and America’s future generations.

I believe Your Word:  THIS IS WHAT THE LORD SAYS: “DON’T LET THE WISE BOAST IN THEIR WISDOM, OR THE POWERFUL BOAST IN THEIR POWER, OR THE RICH BOAST IN THEIR RICHES   BUT THOSE WHO WISH TO BOAST SHOULD BOAST IN THIS ALONE: THAT THEY TRULY KNOW ME AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM THE LORD WHO DEMONSTRATES UNFAILING LOVE AND WHO BRINGS JUSTICE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS TO THE EARTH, AND THAT I DELIGHT IN THESE THINGS.   Jer 9:23-24 (NLT)

So Believers look to You for love and we wait for Your justice and righteousness.  Your delight will be our delight.  Please impart Your Godly Wisdom on all of America’s elected legislators so that American debt may decrease, not increase.

In Jesus’ Name ~ Amen

About SHIRLEY KUFELDT

Everyone says that a Christian should journal their prayer requests. Several years ago I finally found a system that works for me and have been journaling my prayer requests ever since. I became a Christian in my 30’s but wonder how I ever missed the invitation to accept Christ prior to that time. Bible Bites makes it easy to be exposed to, and respond to, one Scripture each day. It’s like a having a conversation with God!
